Florida Solite's property on County Road 209A in eastern Clay County covers more than 900 acres. There the company mined clay from its quarry and operated a rotary kiln process. Using a mixture of clay, dust, shale and other ingredients, Florida Solite produced a light-weight aggregate, but has discontinued aggregate production.
