A Christian stone sarcophagus is kept here by the Archaeological Survey of India. This was the burial coffin of a Christian, which the ASI has excavated. It is now kept out in the open, on the lawn, and ASI staffers use it as a rubbish receptacle! The sarcophagus has carvings of the cross on three sides. It seems to have been the sarcophagus of an important person, probably a bishop of Goa or of a Governor.
