Recently refurbished in 2007-2008 (civic lockout in 2007 delayed work), Victoria park is the ignored park of the district.

Redoing the drainage doesn't seem to help, still soggy.

Moved the Bocce courts from the north to the east side, much further away from the old field house, now with enlarged washrooms.

Dropped the solitary swing and teeter-totter set for an 'improved' play area, now the site of class war between the $2000 baby stroller set and the welfare mother residents, all watching each other warily as the children play with dog poo in the sand pit.

Took away the 1960s stations of fitness set markers from around the park.

The cafe on the corner, now South Seast Oriental food market never does much.

An extension of the cultural mix at the coffee bars on the Drive.

Had a South American drug scene until harrassed by City Police.

Attempts to have a world music festival foundered in the rain, and the relative remoteness of the park from visible areas.
