This neighbourhood is considered to be one of the more up and coming areas of Vancouver, due to its proximity to downtown, its eclectic shopping options, and its relaxed residents. The area straddles Main Street and offer a wide variety of restaurants, clothiers, antiques and many others.

  • can we continue to refer to the area as 'mt. pleasant' or must we use the absoultely ridiculous 'SOMA' moniker?
  • noone wants to call it SOMA; however, most people I hear just say 'main'
  • It's not a mountain...and pleasant might be a stretch as well
