The original tenants of this two-story, Asian-theme structure were the Gee Goon Tong, famous for their help in plotting the 1912 revolution that made China a republic. The Chinese Benevolent Society was founded as an outgrowth of the Tong in 1920 to protect the interests of the local Chinese community. The building features decorative Chinese artwork and colors, with most of the original historic fabric still intact.
