"Rozhen" Bulgarian National Astronomical Observatory

The Bulgarian National Astronomical Observatory (BNAO) - "Rozhen" (the Rhodopes), operated by the Institute of Astronomy (IA), Bulgarian Academy of Sciences disposes with a 2-meter Ritchey-Chretien-Coude (RCC) telescope, a 50/70 cm Schmidt, a 60 cm Cassegrain telescope and solar telescope.
The National Astronomical Observatory "Rozhen" opened on 07/01/2023 a new modern 1.5-meter telescope, manufactured in Austria. With the new telescope, the Rozhen Observatory will be a leader as an astronomical center in the region, according to Dietmar Weinzinger, chief sales manager at the manufacturing company ASA Astrosysteme GmbH.
