  • This looks like the East adit of the old hand-dug Rail tunnel. The legendary tunnel of the days they built the first transcontinental rail road. The west adit/enterance looks like it has been sealed and had the tracks removed along with most of the snow-sheds. East of here you can see miles of the old massive timber sheds that keep the tracks open for the old steam trains.
  • The snow sheds were still in use on the weest side in the early 1960s
