Moffat Tunnel, owned by the City of Denver, carries a Union Pacific Railroad line through the Continental Divide at an elevation of 9239'. Amtrak's California Zephyr passenger train also runs through this tunnel.
America's railroads built 31 crossings over the Divide, and this is one of 10 that are still in use.
