Known as Riversides' first suburb back in 1877. Upon incorporation in 1883, this area was included as part of Riverside before this, streetcars connected the two towns!
By the early 1900s, the area contained a library, fire station, newspaper office, two-story commercial building, local schools, churches and several businesses. The commercial area thrived well into the 1960s. It's heritage is still evident in the architecture of the many buildings along Magnolia ave.
