Texas Christian University (TCU) is a private, coeducational university located in Fort Worth, Texas. Originally founded by Addison and Randolf Clark in 1873 as the AddRan Male & Female College, TCU is affiliated with (but not governed by) the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ).

TCU is classified under the Carnegie classification system as a doctoral/research institution, and offers 100 undergraduate majors, 54 master's programs, and 12 doctoral programs. It does, however, retain strong liberal arts roots. The humanities, social sciences, and sciences are emphasized throughout the curriculum, with a particularly strong emphasis on writing, critical thinking, and communication skills.
