Previously known as WCI Steel, Inc. and most recently Severstal Warren, RG Steel purchased the steel mill in 2010. The Warren facility has long been synonymous with custom steels and custom service. It offers 185 distinct grades of steel including a full range of high carbon and alloy grades designed for demanding applications. Its flexible melt shop offers more discrete chemistries than any other melt shop in North America. Warren’s legendary service has earned it top ratings by its customers for on-time delivery as well as technical support. The plant’s annual steelmaking capability is 1.4 million tons.

Warren is strategically located relative to its customers who include strip converters, steel service centers, automakers and the construction industry. Most of Warren’s customers are located within 200 miles of the plant, ensuring timely and trouble-free delivery.

The plant recently received a major upgrade to its hot mill, which has improved efficiency and product quality. In 2008, the plant completed the installation of a new walking beam furnace at the mill to ensure consistent reheating temperature and thus provide more uniform rolling and hot band quality.
