The monument to the Ukrainian and Russian writer of Ukrainian origin Mykola Hohol (Nikolai Gogol, 1821–1809, surname at birth Yanovskyi) was installed here in 1909.

This is the bronze bust of the writer in a thoughtful pose on a four-sided pedestal of gray granite. He holds his writing notes in his left hand, and in his right is a quill.
His autograph is placed on a metal bar at the foot of the monument.
