Formerly named after a Confederate general in the Civil War, Gen. Leonidas Polk. Polk, who is buried in the Christ Church Cathedral in New Orleans, was killed at the Battle of Pine Mountain in Georgia. He is also one of the few generals in American history who was also a bishop in the Episcopal Church.
