Originally the Pell Golf Links, the Scottish links style course was designed by Lawrence Von Etten as a 9-hole, opening in 1901. It was expanded to 18 holes in 1914, and then redesigned by John Van Kleek in 1936 and renamed Pelham Bay. Van Kleek refurbished a number of New York City's courses.
