Tor Down quarry

Tor Down Quarry, is a disused granite quarry situated in the village of St Breward in Cornwall. It was bought by John and Kirsty Hewitt in May 2011 and they hope to clear the land and make it into a small holiday park with luxury log cabins.

St Breward granite was used in the construction of many well known buildings and bridges :-Tower Bridge London, Eddystone Lighthouse, Bishops Rock Lighthouse, Beachy Head Lighthouse, The London Cenotaph, The Princess of Wales Memorial Fountain in Hyde Park
