The Agniesebuurt is a smallest district located in the Nord part of the Rotterdam with 4300 inhabitants and bounded by Schiekade, Bergweg, Noordsingel, Heer Bokelweg and Pompenburg.
The district was built on a site of the polder Oost-Blommersdijk, formed on the location between the Rotte and the Rotterdamse Schie in 1850-1940.
The Technicon complex with more than 10,000 students is located in the Agniesebuurt.
Iconic symbol of the neighbourhood is The arches of the Hofplein, the closed railway that goes through the district. Numerous small business are located under the rails.
