This is a very narrow part of the Fraser River. It has an airtram (cable car) for crossing the river, and a pedestrian bridge a little lower down.

Hells Gate, named after Simon Fraser's Voyage in 1808, stating in his journal that no man should ever pass through here it was truly like passing through the Gates of Hell! Hells Gate is home to gigantic fishways constructed to assist the millions of salmon the pass through en route to their spawning grounds every year. While Visiting Hells Gate, walk across the suspension bridge view the river from many observation points. There is an Educational Center with videos and information on the history of Hell's Gate, the life cycle of the spawning salmon, the Gold Rush. Simon's Cafe is most known for the delicious salmon chowder, but also serve a wide range of menu items appealing to all crowds. Hells Gate features many little shops including the Fudge Factory and the Gold Panner Gift Shop. The Attraction is pet friendly, and provides fresh water for your four legged friends.
