"The Plateau" is the name used by locals for an unofficial division of Meadville. It's western boundries are marked in town by the hills that rise beginning at Liberty St, Fairmont Ave, Grove St, and Chestnut and Walnut St. It's northern boundry is where the hill plunges steeply to North Street near the footbridge, Bender Field, and Meadville High School. It's eastern boundry is where the hill rises off of Alden St and Oak Grove Ave. It's southern boundry is where it drops to Tamarack Lake and where it flattens out toward Franklin Pike.

An example of it's usage would be "I live up on the plateau".
