Rock Wood Estates is around 8 Kilometers from Kulathupuzha Town. Its originally a Tea Estate developed by British Planters. it is a consortium of three estates namely, Rock Wood, Green Wood, and Shendurney Estates.Its around 500 acres in extent and surrounded by the famous Shendurney Wild Life Santuary. The estate is well known for its Eco Friendly atmosphere and good climate. The Rock Wood Estate and the surrounding area of the Sanctury is known worldwide for, it is the only place in the world where the royal tree namely Chenkurinjy, scientifically known as Gluta Travancorica is found. The tree is most famous for it special medicinal properties. Now the estate is Owned by GEORGE JACOB, who is a well known planter and business man.
