Originally built as the Commerce and Industries Building for the 1915 Panama-California Exposition. Unlike other exposition buildings, which were built in the Spanish Renaissance style, the Casa de Balboa building was built in the Venetian Renaissance style. The wood panelling in the building's eaves were originally painted bright blue, red, green and gold, but the paint -- long since faded -- was not re-added during the building's rennovation.
