Mouth of the Colorado River, the creator of the Glenn and Grand Canyons. Sadly the heavy use of the river for domestic use and as an irrigation source for massive areas of land in both the United States and Mexico has severely reduced the water flow of the Colorado to the point that, absent unusual floods, the river no longer reaches the sea.

  • the mouth is dying. the heavy use of the river as an irrigation source for the Imperial Valley has desiccated the lower course of the river in Mexico such that it no longer consistently reaches the sea.
