The UPLB College of Development Communication is the premiere college that introduced the Development Communication curriculum in the Philippines.

The building of the UP College of Veterinary Medicine was once erected to the site of this building until its transfer to UP Diliman. The site was then erected by its present-day building with its twin building facing each other and is designed by the National Artist for Architecture - Leandro V. Locsin. The building was designated to be occupied by the UP College of Agriculture Administration and the then Institute of Development Communication while its twin building is for the University of the Philippines Los Baños Administration.

Both radio stations of the University: DZLB - Ang Tinig ng Karunungan and LBFM are operated under this college.
