Bienvenido Ma. Gonzalez Animal Science Complex

UP's veterinary and animal science related education and researches are done here. The UP College of Veterinary Medicine (CVM) and College of Agriculture-Animal and Dairy Science Cluster (ADSC) is located in this compound.

Bienvenido Ma. Gonzalez was named an assistant professor of animal husbandry at the university and reached tenure in just six years. He was promoted to become the department head, followed by successive stints as the first Filipino dean of the College of Agriculture in 1928 and appointed the sixth president of the University of the Philippines in 1939 amidst opposition because of his animal breeding provenance. At 46 years old, he was the youngest and the first alumnus to be named UP president. His term was characterized by his open attitude to students and faculty and the encouragement of the use of Tagalog as a national language. For his dedication to service from the years in animal husbandry, this complex was named after him.
