Site of an Indian village on the Neuse River, that was the eastern end of the Fish Dam Road, an Indian trail that dates back to 1600. The white settlers developed the trail into a road. Remnants of the road still remain as the routing of several modern roads across northern Durham. Parts of the road bed are just depressions in the ground.
