There are two parts to this park, a meadow, surrounded on three sides with woods and a sheer cliff on the fourth, and a playground recessed approximately ten feet below street level, surrounded on two sides by sheer rock cliffs and flanked by the city's largest cemetery, Maple Hill. Some superstitious folks know the latter as "Dead Children's Playground", so-called because of purported "ghostly" encounters, but more likely an artifact of the numerous empty beer and liquor bottles left lying in the woods.
