Former RNAS Ford (HMS Peregrine)

Opened 1918, the airfield saw service in WWII and finally closed in 1980. HMP Ford occupies some of the old airfield buildings and a large outdoor market is held on the disused runway every Sunday.
A former RAF Hawker Hunter jet aircraft is situated at the eastern entrance as gate guardian.
