Meadway is a group of five tower blocks in the Yardley constituency in East Birmingham. The five tower blocks are to be demolished as part of regeneration of the site. The 215 tenants in the 222 flats have complained of not being able to fit fridge-freezers into their kitchens making the living space inadequate for modern life. The green light for their demolition was given on June 11, 2007.

The 8 storey blocks were built in 1959. There is also a block of 18 flats built on a site of archaeological interest. The Poolway shopping centre has 33 retail units and 70 flats. Average house prices in this locality are approximately £45,000 lower than those in the Housing Market Area.

The blocks consist of 222 flats (74 x 1 bed and 148 x 2 bed). The no fines concrete blocks are un-modernised, apart from central heating installed in the early 1980s. The flats are in poor condition; do not meet the Decent Homes Standard and residents report high levels of anti-social behaviour.

It is considered that demolition represents the most affordable of these options and is the best course of action, financially and in terms of meeting strategic objectives.
