Covina Public Library started as a reading room in back of Warner's grocery store in May 1897. A Carnegie library building was built and opened on this site on December 4, 1905, and the facade was remodeled in 1941. The original building was torn down and the current building was constructed on the same site, and dedicated on November 30, 1963. As the only library serving the City of Covina, it holds over 103,000 items, including 93,000 book volumes, and has 33 computers for public use. A native plants garden and mural depicting the history of the library was added to the west side in 2007.
