The West Covina Sportsplex is a 315-acre development that will bring much needed recreation and commercial retail business to the center of West Covina. Once a former landfill, the City of West Covina has taken a proactive role to convert a site that has negatively impacted the community over the past 50 years into a viable, revenue generating and exciting development that will serve to benefit the city many years into the future.

It is made up of four components, which include the commercial development (nearing completion), Big League Dreams Sports Park (completed), an 18-hole championship Public Golf Course, and a commercial office development.

The City expects Big League Dreams to serve as an example of land reclamation that can be applied to other restricted sites in the region.

The Community Development Commission will also be responsible for conserving 47 acres of Coastal Sage Scrub Habitat for the California Gnatcatcher, which is a federally endangered bird living in the project vicinity.
