house, interesting place
A Charles II Kentish-Yeoman house, this was the home of Sir Herbert Baker, famous architect responsible for important buildings in London, India and South Africa. Features of the delightful red brick house include the Carolean staircase, ornate plasterwork and a large kitchen garden, all of which has largely remained intact from when the Bakers resided here.
