    Baranayan is the Home town of Mission Family who had their education at Notre Dame of Milbuk. The early settlers in Baranayan were the Bagang Family, Quejano Family, Durendes Family, Arisgado Family, Caracut, Talaba and Zaraiba Family. The Mission Family who had their Father named Andres Mission Sr., married Manuela Bagang Mission and had sired seven children. Out of the seven children they only had one girl. The eldest is named Gil Mission now working at the Fishing industry in gensan, Sr. Imelda Mission, OND is the second currently asssigned in Bongao, Tawi Tawi as school tresurer in one of their religious school owned and manage by the Oblates of Notre Dame, the third and the fourth were the twin borthers, Professor Leaonardo Mission and Rev. Fr. Reynaldo B. Mission, Diocesan Chancellor of the Diocese of Marbel and currently assigned parish Vicar of the Christ the King Cathdral. He is also a member of the Diocesan Tribunal of Marbel being the Defender of the Bond. He had finished his Licentiate in Canon Law at the Pontifical Royal University of Santo Tomas De Manila last March 24, 2007. The 5th is Jerome Mission, currently working at the Notre ddame of Dadiangas University Business Resource Center, the 6th is Tereso Mission, he takes care of their Farm in Baranayan, and the youngest is a lawyer currently working at the Regional Trial Court , Gensan Branch as the Regional Trial Court Clerk.
