  • Ah, a infamous urban legend of Chicago that has withstood the test of time. The story begins when a taxi driver heads home on a stormy night. On the way, he spots a hooded-robed woman walking in the street, who asks for a ride home. The driver agrees, and the woman gives him her address. When he arrives at her address, it is revealed to be Resurrection Cemetery! The woman jumps out of the cab, burns through the iron gates of the cemetery, and disappears into the night. Duh, sounds absurd, but there have been at least fifty tellings of this story by offical Chicago cab drivers who experinced this.
  • im scary when i going there
  • The story of Resurrection Mary is one of the classics of Chicagoland ghost lore. It's a variation on the "phantom hitchhiker" theme of ghost stories. Actually, much of this area (Archer Avenue alongside the ship & sanitary canal) has a "spooky" or haunted reputation.
