Nalitabari (Bengali: নালিতাবাড়ি) is an Upazila of Sherpur District in the Division of Dhaka, Bangladesh. It is located at 25.0833°N 90.1954°E. It has 42698 units of household and total area 327.61 km².

Nalitabari is bounded by Meghalaya State (India) on the north, Sherpur sadar and Nakla upazilas on the south, Haluaghat upazila on the east and Jhenaigati upazila on the west. Main rivers are Kangsa, Bhugai.

Nalitabari thana was turned into an upazila in 1983. The upazila consists of 7 union parishads, 108 mouzas and 138 villages.

Nalitabari (Town) consists of 9 wards and 17 mahallas. The area of the town is 15.87 km. It has a population of 25481; male 51.70%, female 48.30%. The density of population is 1606 per sq km. Literacy rate among the town people is 37.5%.

As of the 1991 Bangladesh census: Population 256332; male 56.51%, female 43.49%; Muslim 91.94%, Hindu 4.65%, Christian 2.13% and others 1.28%; ethnic nationals: Garo, Hajong, Hodi, Mandai and Koch.

Main occupations: Agriculture 46.16%, agricultural labourer 28.04%, transport 1.33%, commerce 7.43%, service 2.01%, wage labourer 3.77% and others 11.26%.

Land use: Total cultivable land 24946 hectares; single crop 20.44%, double crop 67.63% and treble crop land 11.93%; land under irrigation 14327 hectares.
