A local landmark of the Hungarian community was originally established in 1889 as the Angus Smith Hotel. Micl Kovac purchased the property in 1934 and opened what became a popular bar. In 1996 the bar was acquired from the Kovac family and operated until 2012 when it was closed. In 2017 the building was demolished to make way for the Gordie Howe International Bridge.
