Merrion Row Hotel & Public House

6-story Beaux-Arts hostel/commercial building completed in 1900. It was known as the Normandie Hotel until the late 1990s, when it operated as the Big Apple Hostel, and was then sold in 2014, when it was renovated, reopening in 2018 as the Merrion Row. The upper floors are clad in red brick and limestone, two bays wide. The 2nd floor has segmental-arched windows above stone spandrel panels, with keystones. There are tripartite windows in the openings, and the floor is capped by a dentiled cornice.

Both the 2nd & 3rd floors have stone banding across the piers, giving way to quoins at the edges of the top floors. The 3rd floor has projecting bay windows with angled side panes, surmounted by stone cornices. The 4th-5th floors have stone-enframed double-height openings with paired windows at the 4th floor and tripartite windows at the 5th floor. There are dark-brown cast-iron spandrels panels between the two floors, above ribbed iron projections. The stone enframements are topped by scrolled keystones. The top floor has four single-windows, and is crowned by a black metal roof cornice.
