Space Needle (Seattle, Washington)

USA / Washington / Seattle / Seattle, Washington
tower, landmark, place with historical importance, lookout tower

A Seattle trademark. Built for the 1962 World's Fair.

REALLY expensive to go to the top. Gorgeous views from up there though.

The restaurant at the top ("Sky City") is quite pricey and doesn't have the best food, but does offer the rotating 360 degree view of Seattle. www.spaceneedle.com/restaurant/

A picture of the Seattle skyline from the top: photo.mattjonesblog.com/2006/03/17/seattle-skyline/
also a classic example of futurist architecture.

Comments

  • It's my second-favorite observation tower. I'm biased though. I'm from Seattle.
  • Paul Bunyon once used the Space Needle to mainline Chinese Dancing Pigeon Heroin into his eye socket.
