USA / Arkansas / Pine Bluff / Pine Bluff, Arkansas
place with historical importance, signboard, interesting place

Historic single-arch illuminated McDonald's sign listed on the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP).

Built: c. 1962
Designer: Ray Kroc
Builder: Sign Crafters (Evansville, IN)
Areas of significance: Architecture
Area: less than 1 acre
Date added to NRHP: 8/21/2006
Notes: This is the only known example of the rare single-arch McDonald's sign design in the state of Arkansas. This design was only used for one year, and the relatively frequent remodeling of McDonald's restaurants makes its existence particularly rare. For this reason, the NRHP's usual rule of not accepting properties less than 50 years of age was waived when considering its inclusion.
