The Armory, built in 1941, was home to national guard troops as well as a popular venue for dances, concerts (Elvis!), speeches (JFK & MLK), and wrestling. Vacated by the national guard, plans are moving forward to redevelop the site with a hotel, day spa, farmers' market, restaurants, office space, artists' studios, and 5-acre park. The historic building will remain intact.
