It is today a Trappist monastery in an old priory of canons regular
In 1233 the place was given to the Canons Regular and a priory was built.
On 10 May 1790 the canons were expelled and had to leave, not without a large donation. The land was sold and abandoned buildings until their takeover in 1815 by the Cistercians.
From 1814 a monk of Darfeld, a former monk of Morimond (near Langres) receives permission from Louis XVIII to build a Trappist monastery.
