In operation since 1939, Jeffboat is the largest single-site inland shipbuilding and repair facility in the United States. During WWII, Jeffboat was one of the most prolific builders of Amphibous Landing Craft for the US Navy and built some 115 Tank Landing Ships (LST's) which saw service the world over. Postwar, Jeffboat has established itself as a noted designer and builder of barges, towboats, ferries, casino boats and river cruise ships.
Changes in market conditions led to the shipyard to announce its closure in May of 2018.
