Taastrup Teater VISION, MISSION AND OBJECTIVES
Taastrup Theatre is situated in the heart of the western region of Copenhagen, with a varied programme of drama, music and dance. The SubUrb-unit specializes in productions about contemporary societal issues such as cultural diversity, ethnic diversity, globalization etc. The AlphaOmega-unit specializes in children´s touring shows, specially tailored for primary schools.
Throughout the season the theatre hosts top quality touring productions from other theatres, such as the Royal Danish Theatre. The theatre also produces a symphonic concert, a promenade concert, and co-produce drama with other theatres nationally and internationally. The theatre includes a drama-school for children, arrange regular education workshops for young people; and also host Kul’tour’en, an annual festival with e.g. rock-concerts and an opera-productions.
The theatre have strong links with our local community, the public as well as the private sector - a sponsor-club of more than forty private enterprises, and cooperate with schools, sportsclubs, museums, musical venues and other cultural institutions.
The theatre is financially supported mainly by the commune of Hoeje-Taastrup and the Ministry of Culture; but also receive funds from private enterprises and e.g. the Ministry of Integration and the British Council.

To create, develop and produce a vital and dynamic programme of theatre, and other live performances and projects, for all the people of Hoeje-Taastrup and surrounding areas.
Objectives
To attract the most talented, well-educated, competent and caring personnel.
To create a theatre that is welcoming, inclusive and open to all sections of the community.
To create a theatre which has a high profile, and is a vital component of the public and cultural life of the region.
To create work that both satisfies and challenges the theatre´s audiences.
To develop a national profile for the theatre as a centre of excellence and a source of innovation.
To combine our own productions, projects, collaborations with other partners and touring work.
To offer opportunities to develop theatre and performance skills, particularly to young people and other social and cultural groups who are currently underrepresented.
