Large village in County Galway, situated by the side of Lough Corrib and at the edge of the glorious wilderness and mountains of Connemara. A haven for fishing - early May sees the school-children filling the central square each morning to sell the fishermen may-fly as bait. Directly from the village are many beautiful walks by the lakeside, through forests, up hills or through a bog - each walk provides a completely different experience without ever needing to get in the car.
