Home of the University of Tulsa's Golden Hurricane football team, members of Conference USA. The stadium opened in 1930 with a capacity of 14,500. The stadium has gone through several renovations including a three story press box on the West side. Skelly Stadium played host to the Tulsa Roughnecks soccer team (NASL) and the USFL's Oklahoma Outlaws. Skelly has hosted pro football exhibition games for the Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Chicago Bears in 1953 and the AFL's Dallas Texans vs. Houston Oilers in 1960. In 1966 the St. Louis Cardinals played an exhibition baseball game at Skelly Stadium against the Tulsa Oilers, their AAA farm team. Current capacity is 35,542 with the new Case Athletic Complex nearing completion in the North end zone.
