Badain Jaran Desert. Often considered the southern region of the Gobi Desert, a region of sand dunes covering nearly 50,000 square kilometres at the heart of Gobi Desert. Home to the world's tallest sand dunes, called megadunes, some are as high as 500 metres.

    A face appears on top of what looks like an ancient large man-made mound structure located in the northeastern area of the Gobi just below Mongolia. The mound stands out as a dark area in a uniform sandy landscape. Not too far to the northeast can be seen what looks like the left profile of a green face with a white eye in a sandy ravine landscape. Has anyone seen these facial images, and what are they?

    All but the south-east reach of what is marked as the Gobi, is covered in these obviously spectacular dunes. Why do you call it 'sand-less'?
