Built in 1855 as the Grand Hôtel du Louvre. Converted in 1887 to Les Grands Magasins du Louvre, a department store. The hotel moved to the building across the square. The department store closed in 1974 and the building served as an antiques market until 2015, when it was closed for conversion into a luxury shopping mall.
