Great Hypostyle Hall (Luxor)

Originally begun by Sety I (c. 1290-1279 BC) and completed by his son Ramesses II (c. 1279-1213 BC) , the Great Hypostyle Hall at Karnak contains 134 massive columns supporting roof beams, 12 of which line the main axis and stand taller than the rest. The hall is decorated with reliefs and inscriptions honoring Sety I and Ramesses II.
