  • Senusret II of Dynasty XII: His throne name was Kha-khaeper-re, meaning "Soul of Re comes into Being". Senusret II succeeded his father, Amenemhet II, Biblical Time at 1933 B.C. after a short co-regency of at least three years. The length of his rule, according to the Biblical Time must be seven years, comper to the Oxford History of Ancient Egypt that gives his reign as 1877-1870, while Clayton gives him a reign from 1897-1878 B.C. His cordial relations with the regional leaders in Egypt is attested to for example, as that eternal document which appears above a drawing of the “Israelite Caravan” on the north wall of the tomb of Count Khnumhotep II at Beni-Hassan. In that historical, eternal document, one can find the opening of an ancient Egyptian message, written in ciphers = [22+15] = 37 arrivals, but also a prophecy of “A Range of Times”, with the ciphers [22+15]=[2200+1500] representing [Israel]. Clearly, a conclusion about any historical event must be based on a significant and conclusive fact. Such a fact does appear in the written message accompanying the drawing: a specific Point in Time – “In the year 6 of Pharaoh Khakheperre”. Based on this, one can claim that this message was intended to document an “Eternal Historical Event” (documented by Joseph) for generations to come. It was “Pharaoh Khakheperre” of Dynasty XII (Senusret II) who gave Joseph a title (“Genesis” 45- -8) “A father to Pharaoh” and ordered to settle the family of Jacob, the father of his beloved ruler, “In the Land of Rameses” (“Genesis” 47- -11) at Faiyum. Such an extraordinary event, to order an Egyptian land to strangers as proprietary (“Genesis” 47- -11) was exceptional in Egyptian history, and has never been documented again. It seems that Faiyum was not an “Egyptian Sacred Land” according to the ancient written law (“Genesis” 46- -34) “Since all Shepherds are Abhorrent to the Egyptian”. Like his father's, Senusret II's reign is at least considered to be a peaceful one, with more diplomacy with many neighbors then warfare. when trade with the Near East was particularly prolific, undoubted as it was "Joseph’s Time" of the 14 years, afther he solved “Amenemhet II’s Dream”. In fact, it is told of no military campaigns during his rule, though he doubted protected Egypt's mineral interests and their expanded territory in Nubia. As it was "The 14 years of Joseph’s Time" Senusret II's efforts seem to have been more directed at expanding cultivation within the Faiyum rather then making war with his neighbors and regional nobles. In the Faiyum, his projects turned a considerable area from marshlands into agricultural land. He established a Faiyum irrigation project, including building a dyke and digging canals to connect the Faiyum with that waterway known today as Bahr Yusef. Senusret II built his pyramid closer to the Faiyum Oasis at Lahun. His pyramid definitely established a new tradition in pyramid building. For example, beginning with Senusret II, the location of the door was less important from a religious then from a security standpoint, so rather then being on the north side of the structure, it was hidden in the pavement of the south side. In light of this the pyramid of Joseph must be that small pyramid on the northern side of Senusret II's pyramid.
