  • History tells that Thomas Edison came to the Sierra Madres in 1878 to get away from the hustle and bustle for some "therapy" fishing. It was here at this small Battle Lake when "the light clicked on" in Edison's head and his attention was directed to the fiber line on his bamboo fishing pole which he ultimately tests as a suitable filament for his incandescent electric lamp. http://www.fs.fed.us/r2/mbr/about/districts/brush.shtml/
  • Can you fish in Battle Lake?
  • How many people use this lake during the summer months, i.e. 5/15 - 9/15? IO remember camping and fishing there as a youth but would like to see the place one more time before I leave this earth. It was one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen.
