Went to Polachira wetland lake yesterday (Dec 20, 2008) with my appa Glenn Kharkongor from Shillong. He is amazed by Kollam and its richness. Saw plenty of birds, plenty of purple moorhens, green bee-eaters, bronze winged jacanas. Bird enthusiasts should not miss this place. Also saw white-breasted kingfishers, pond herons, egrets, terns and wild ducks. Today we are going to Munro Island by boat. Have fun in Kollam!
