Shouran lake is located east of Bir Ali city on the road toward the area of Maifaa ( located in Hadhramaut governorate). It is a huge volcanic lake , with emerald color waters , on an extinct volcano , surrounded by mangroves (shoury trees). A lot of tales and legends are narrated about the lake. The lake was formed by a huge volcanic explosion in the past.The beauty of the lake is fully appreciated from atop the nearby mountain.
